Remembering Adeola

The heart behind the foundation

Adeola Abosede Osineye was born in the early 1980s in the historic city of Ibadan, Nigeria, into a modest and devout Methodist family. She was the cherished daughter of the late Pa Johnson Fasanya, a mechanical engineer, and Mrs Olupeju Fasanya, a dedicated businesswoman.

She grew up in a loving, close-knit household with her siblings, in early years filled with faith, warmth and strong family values. It was the same warmth she would go on to give everyone she met.

Adeola lived a purposeful, impactful and fulfilling life. She is survived by her loving husband, her children, her siblings and her mother.

Her Life

Faith, learning and service

Education

Adeola began her education at Ibadan Municipality School, Apata, and went on to Our Lady of Apostles Secondary School, Odo Ona, Ibadan, between 1995 and 2001. In pursuit of higher learning she enrolled at the Federal College of Education, Osiele, Abeokuta.

Her passion for knowledge took her abroad in 2005, when she earned a Higher National Certificate in Administration and Information Technology from the North West Institute in Londonderry, Northern Ireland. She obtained a further certificate from the Scottish Qualifications Authority in Glasgow in 2007, and continued her studies at Robertson College in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Her work

Adeola's compassion and love for humanity guided her career into healthcare. She worked with the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority for several years before joining St. Amant as a social worker, a role she held faithfully until her passing.

Faith and service

Beyond her professional life, Adeola was known for her humility, hard work, warmth and vibrant spirit. She volunteered with a number of organisations, including the Salvation Army, and was deeply devoted to her Christian faith.

She served God wholeheartedly in many capacities: as a chorister at CAC Revival Centre, Apata, Ibadan; as a leader of several church committees and prayer groups; and as head of the Ushering and Hospitality Department at RCCG Strong Tower Parish, Winnipeg, Manitoba.

An open home

Her selfless and accommodating nature touched countless lives. Adeola's home was always open, welcoming distant relatives, in-laws, friends and church members alike. Through her generosity, encouragement and steadfast support, she nurtured families and positively shaped many destinies.

“Our dead are never dead to us until we have forgotten them.” George Eliot

Death ends a life, not a relationship. The memory of Adeola Abosede Osineye will remain forever alive in our hearts.

Adieu, Adeola

Why We Started

A promise, kept

In the months after losing Adeola, the people who loved her kept returning to the same thought: she had spent her life carrying others, and the people she carried were often the ones nobody else was looking after.

So her husband founded this in her honour, to continue her vision: caring for widows and the less privileged, and standing beside families facing health challenges, as she always did. Everything we do is measured against one question: would this have helped Adeola, and the families like ours?
